Aleksia Karutasu is a Romanian-born Turkish professional volleyball player who currently plays for VakıfBank Istanbul and the Turkey national team. She competed at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship, where Romania ranked sixth. She also competed at the 2018 Girls’ U17 Volleyball European Championship, where the Romanian team placed fifth.
Aleksia Karutasu was born on June 10, 2003, in Bucharest, Romania. She started playing volleyball from an early age and was one of the most talented young players in the country. Later, she obtained Turkish nationality.
Aleksia Karutasu made her Romanian top-flight debut with CSM București in October 2016, coming on as a substitute against CSM Volei Alba Blaj. She is the youngest debutant (13 Years, 4 Months) in the Divizia A1 history.
After two seasons in Romania, Aleksia Karutasu decided to move to Turkey, where signed with Vakıfbank II in 2018. She gained experience in the Turkish league, which made her one of the most prominent young players.
In 2019, Aleksia Karutasu signed with Sistem9 Yesilyurt to play in the Turkiye Kadınlar Voleybol Ligi. With the team she won the Challenge Cup. She was awarded at Turkiye Kadınlar Voleybol Ligi Player of the Year 2020.
In 2021, she signed with Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, but the team finished 5th at the Turkish Cup and the Turkiye Kadınlar Voleybol Ligi.
Aleksia Karutasu signed with her current club VakıfBank Istanbul in 2022. The team was runner-up at the Club World Championship.
She won the silver at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku with the Turkish national volleyball team.
