Valeriya Zaytseva

Valeriya Zaytseva is a Russian volleyball player, who plays as a central blocker for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad. She is a champion of the Summer Universiade 2019 and twice of the Russian Superleague. She is a Master of Sports in Russia.

Valeriya Zaytseva was born on March 24, 1995, in Vuktyl, Komi Republic, Russia. As a child, she moved with her family to Novosibirsk, where she began playing volleyball. She played for the local Kirovets. Later she moved to Moscow, where she trained at Dynamo. In 2013, she played four matches in the World Youth Championship.

Valeriya Zaytseva started her professional career in 2014 with the Russian team Proton-Saratov.

Since November 2018, she has been playing for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad, with which she twice won the Russian Championships (2021 and 2022), as well as twice being the runner-up of the Russian Championships (2019 and 2020). In season 2021/2022, her team was third in the Cup of the Governor of the Kaliningrad region and was awarded as the best blocker. The same season Lokomotiv Kaliningrad finished 5th in the Champions League.

In May 2019, Valeriya Zaytseva joined the Russian national team for the first stage of the League of Nations. In July 2019, as part of the Russian student team, she won the Universiade in Italy.
