Laura Dijkema is a Dutch volleyball player, who plays as a setter for the Italian club CBF Balducci HR Macerata and the Dutch national team. She won the silver at the 2015 CEV European Championship and bronze at the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix.
Laura Chantal Dijkema was born on February 18, 1990, in Beilen, Netherlands. She started playing volleyball in 1997 at the age of 7, at the club Smash in her hometown of Beilen.
Laura Dijkema made her professional volleyball debut in 2006 for the team DOK Dwingeloo in the highest league in the Netherlands. After only one season in the club, she moved to Germany to sign with SCU Emlichheim for the season 2007/2008, before returning back to the Netherlands to play for the Dela Martinus in 2008/2009. With Dela Martinus, she won the Dutch Cup and Dutch Championship.
In 2009, she signed with TVC Amstelveen for two seasons. In her maiden season with the club, she TVC Amstelveen made a treble to win Dutch SuperCup, Dutch Cup, and Dutch Championship. In her second season, the perfect performance of the club continued and Laura Dijkema was in the heart of this. The team won the Dutch SuperCup and the Dutch Championship.
In 2011, Laura Dijkema moved to Germany to play for VfB Suhl Lotto Thuringen in 2011/2012 and USC Munster in 2012/2013.
In 2013, she moved to Turkey to play for Halkbank Ankara, but after only one season returned to Germany to sign with Dresdner SC 1898 for two seasons. Thus, Laura Dijkema won the German Championship in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, as well as the German Cup in 2015/2016.
The Dutch volleyball player signed with the Italian volleyball club Igor Gorgonzola Novara in 2016. She played for one season in the team, winning the Italian Championship. In 2017, she signed with Il Bisonte Firenze for two seasons.
In 2020, Laura Dijkema moved to Russia to sign with Lokomotiv Kaliningrad for the 2020/2021 season. With the club, she won the Russian Championship. After the season, she signed with another Russian club Leningradka Saint Petersburg for one more season, finishing 4th in the Russian Cup and 7th in the Russian SuperLeague.
In 2022, Laura Dijkema returned to Italy and signed with CBF Balducci HR Macerata.
At the international level, Laura Dijkema plays for the Italian senior national team. She won the silver at the 2015 CEV European Championship and bronze at the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix.
