Myrthe Schoot

Myrthe Schoot is a Dutch volleyball player, who plays as a Libero. Myrthe Schoot played at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Myrthe Schoot was born on August 29, 1988, in Winterswijk, Netherlands. She started in volleyball with the youth team Udense Saturnus.

Myrthe Schoot made her professional debut in 2005 for the Dutch volleyball club VC Weert.

In 2006, Myrthe Schoot signed with the club Longa ’59, where played for two seasons. In her maiden season with the club, they were the runner-ups at the Dutch Supercup, Dutch Eredivisie, and Dutch Cup, as well as 4th in CEV Cup.

In 2008, Myrthe Schoot transferred to the team of Dela Martinus, which was the current champion of the Netherlands. For one season with the club, she made a treble – winning the Dutch Supercup, Dutch Eredivisie, and Dutch Cup. The club also played in the Champions League.

In 2009, she moved to TVC Amstelveen and again made a treble in her maiden season – winning the Dutch Supercup, Dutch Eredivisie, and Dutch Cup. In the 2010/2011 season, the team played also in the Challenge Cup.

In 2011, Myrthe Schoot moved to Germany to sign with Rote Raben Vilsbiburg. She stayed for only one season in the club and finished 2nd in German Cup and 3rd in the German Bundesliga. Also, the team played in CEV Cup.

In 2012, Myrthe Schoot was transferred to another German club – Dresdner SC 1898. She spent most of her active and successful career on that team, playing for six seasons there. During her stay in the team, she won the German Bundesliga three times (2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016) and German Cup in 2017/2018. In 2013/2014, the team finished 3rd in the CEV Cup and 8th in the Champions League in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.

In 2018, Myrthe Schoot returned to Rote Raben Vilsbiburg and signed a 3-year contract.

In 2021, She returned to the Netherlands and signed with Team 22.

At the international level, Myrthe Schoot made her debut for the national team in 2010. In 2016, Schoot was selected for the Dutch women’s team that participated in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In October 2018, Myrthe Schoot played an important role as a substitute in the women’s national team, which reached the semi-finals at the World Championship in Japan.
